Code Design for Multihop Wireless Relay Networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We consider a wireless relay network, where a transmitter node communicates with a receiver node with the help of relay nodes. Most coding strategies considered so far assume that the relay nodes are used for one hop.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Noncoherent Space-Time Coding: An Algebraic Perspective [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Cataloged from PDF version of article. The design of space–time signals for noncoherent block-fading channels where the channel state information is not known a priori at the transmitter and the receiver is considered.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Reduced States Multilevel Space Time Coding

open access: yesمجلة النهرين للعلوم الهندسية, 2008
There is an increasing demand for higher data rates and higher quality in wireless communications that has motivated the use of multiple antenna elements at both the transmitter and the receiver sides of a wireless link.

Application of Space-Time Diversity/Coding For Power Line Channels [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
The purpose of the present work is to evaluate the application of space-time block codes to the transmission of digital data over the power-line communication channel (PLC).

Space-time network coding [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 2011
Traditional cooperative communications can improve communication reliability. However, transmissions from multiple relay nodes are challenging in practice. Single transmissions in time-division multiple-access (TDMA) manner cause large transmission delay, but simultaneous transmissions from two or more nodes using frequency-division multiple access ...

Cis‐regulatory and long noncoding RNA alterations in breast cancer – current insights, biomarker utility, and the critical need for functional validation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The noncoding region of the genome plays a key role in regulating gene expression, and mutations within these regions are capable of altering it. Researchers have identified multiple functional noncoding mutations associated with increased cancer risk in the genome of breast cancer patients.
