Mechanisms and therapeutic opportunities of the ribotoxic stress response in cancer
Cancer cells' high translational demand creates opportunities to therapeutically target ribosome function. Ribosome stalling and collisions activate ZAKα and the ribotoxic stress response (RSR), which can trigger rapid, p53‐independent apoptosis in cancer.

Tethered Elevator Design For Space Station
This paper describes the conceptual engineering design of a space station elevator that operates on a 10-km tether spanning the distance between the space station and a tethered platform.

The VHL tumor suppressor at the crossroad of protein folding, aggregation, and cancer
Mutations, environmental stress, and chaperone dysfunction can destabilize pVHL, promoting its conversion from the native folded state into amyloid‐like assemblies. This transition may contribute to protein storage, cell dormancy, survival, and drug resistance.

A space elevator is a tall structure that starts from the surface of the Earth and reaches out beyond geostationary orbit (GEO) in space. The space elevator could be used to deliver payloads to any Earth’s orbit or send them to any other planet in the ...

Minnesota Cooperative Elevator Associations
36 pagesTHE FARMERS' elevator movement in Minnesota started about 1890. The number of elevator associations in which farmers owned at least 50 per cent of the stock had grown to 270 by 1914.

Extracellular vesicle (EV) lipidomic profiling of plasma and ascites from patients with high‐grade serous ovarian cancer and of ovarian cancer cell lines reveals enrichment of triglycerides (TGs), diacylglycerols (DGs), phosphatidylcholine (PCs), sphingomyelins (SMs), reflecting tumor metabolic reprogramming.

A partial space elevator (PSE) is a multi-body tethered space system in which the main satellite, typically an ultra-large spacecraft or a space station in a higher orbit, is connected to a transport spacecraft in a lower orbit via a tether, maintaining ...

Taxanes are widely used chemotherapeutics whose effects on cellular mechanics remain poorly understood. We show that paclitaxel induces rapid cellular contraction by promoting GEF‐H1 dissociation from microtubules and non‐muscle myosin II activation through RhoA/ROCK.

The Physics of a Space Elevator [PDF]
A space elevator is a hypothetical device consisting of a long cable attached to the surface of the earth that extends upward into space. Its purpose is to provide a tether on which a vehicle could be lifted up into orbit, greatly reducing the cost of ...
