Microbiome‐blood–brain barrier interactions in aging — mechanisms and therapeutic potential

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Aging reshapes the gut microbiome (↓SCFA‐producing commensals; ↑pro‐inflammatory outputs), shifting circulating metabolites (↓SCFAs; ↑LPS, ↑TMAO, ↑PAA) that act at the BBB to increase nonspecific transcytosis, alter transport, and promote astrocyte reactivity, heightening brain vulnerability.

Study on the Measurement Method of Indoor Elevator Noise Under the Condition of Common Wall of Elevator Shaft and Residence

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering
Elevator noise is one of noise pollution that affect the living quality of residents. Because of the lack of accurate measurement methods and evaluation indexes for the indoor noise caused by elevator operation, the contradiction between residents ...

Peripheral lysosomes recruit PLEKHG3 to focal adhesions and restrain protrusion dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proximity‐dependent labeling at the LAMTOR complex revealed the Rho GEF PLEKHG3 as a lysosome‐proximal protein directing the study toward the influence of lysosome positioning on actin dynamics and cell motility. We show that PLEKHG3 colocalizes with lysosomes at focal adhesion sites and observe that forced peripheral dispersion of lysosomes hinders ...

Elevator Control Simulation Using Fuzzy Logic Management

open access: yesJuTISI (Jurnal Teknik Informatika dan Sistem Informasi)
The use of a permanent magnet synchronous motor as an actuator in a ropeless elevator presents a number of difficulties that must be overcome for the system to be secure and stable.

Engineering peptides into antibodies—opportunities and strategies for therapeutic innovation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Peptides and antibodies occupy complementary therapeutic niches. Peptides recognize difficult targets in a compact format, while antibodies add specificity, long half‐life, and effector functions. This review examines strategies that merge both modalities—peptide grafting into loops, terminal and Fc fusions, and bioconjugation—highlighting how ...

Dynamic Analysis of High-Speed Elevator Braking Incorporating Time-Varying Slip and Multi-Mode Operational Transitions

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The braking system is a critical safety mechanism for elevators, making precise performance prediction essential for robust design. However, high-speed elevator braking is a complex nonlinear dynamic process featuring real-time stick-slip transitions at ...

The Pitch as Meaning-directing Activity: Implications for Students and Education When Fast Pace and a Striving for Novelty Set the Scene

open access: yesQualitative Studies, 2021
The elevator pitch is part of a global tendency toward homogenization of entrepreneurial content in educational programs (Fletcher, 2018), and this article shows how the pitch is naturalized as a new language because it must be decoded in order to pass ...

A lunar space elevator systems study

open access: yes, 2022
Studied in this thesis are the forces acting on a tether orbiting a celestial body. This tether, coupled with autonomous climbing mechanisms, form a system called a space elevator. The feasibility of a space elevator is studied with respect to many risks,

Autophagy and mitophagy in pancreatic β‐cell homeostasis and their involvement in diabetes pathophysiology

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This review focuses on the role of autophagy and mitophagy in maintaining pancreatic β‐cell function and homeostasis. We discuss how genetic defects affecting these pathways contribute to the development of type 1, type 2, monogenic, and gestational diabetes. We further explore their potential as therapeutic targets. Created in BioRender.
