The impact of self-heating and SiGe strain-relaxed buffer thickness on the analog performance of strained Si nMOSFETs [PDF]
The impact of the thickness of the silicon–germanium strain-relaxed buffer (SiGe SRB) on the analog performance of strained Si nMOSFETs is investigated.

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

DETERMINANTS OF RESIDENTIAL SPACE HEATING EXPENDITURES IN GERMANY [PDF]
We first examine the determinants of household expenditures on space heating and hot water supply in Germany. A number of socio-economic characteristics of households are included along with building characteristics.

Cytosolically synthesized chloroplast preproteins are translocated across the outer and inner envelope membranes through translocons called TOC and TIC, respectively. In green algae and plants, the TIC core is composed of essential membrane proteins, Tic12, Tic20, and Tic214.

Protocole de kyoto : Le cas du secteur résidentiel au Canada?
This paper compares unit space heating energy consumptions (USHEC) per household in the Canadian residential sector. The study is based on several surveys conducted by Hydro-Québec and Natural Resource Canada.

Cost Liability and Residential Space Heating Expenditures of Welfare Recipients in Germany [PDF]
Within the German welfare system, heating expenditures of recipients are in general fully covered by the government. This paper empirically tests for the hypothesis that households receiving welfare payments turn to over consumption of residential space ...

One effective method to help the UK achieve GHG emission reduction targets is to reduce and decarbonise the heat demand of solid-walled terraced houses, as there are over 2.5 million such buildings making up a significant proportion of the whole building

Rapid screening of staphylokinase protein variants using an unpurified cell‐free expression system
An unpurified cell‐free protein synthesis (CFPS) platform enables rapid functional screening of staphylokinase variants. Direct plasminogen‐activation assays performed in microplate format provide real‐time activity readouts, allowing rapid identification and ranking of variants with improved or reduced fibrinolytic activity without protein ...

Evolutionarily divergent DUF4465 domains have a common vitamin B12‐binding function
We show that DUF4465 family proteins, widespread across bacteria from gut microbiomes, hydrothermal vents, and soil, share a common vitamin B12‐binding function. These augmented β‐jellyroll proteins bind vitamin B12 via extended loops. Our findings establish sequence‐diverse DUF4465 proteins as a widespread class of B12‐binding proteins, highlighting ...

Development of a Residential Space-Heating Demand Prediction Method under Uncertainly
In this paper, a prediction method was advanced for residential space heating demand under the fuzz environment. This developed method improved the traditional heat load duration curve method via the quantification expression technique for the fuzzy ...
