Wood preference of spalting fungi in urban hardwood species
International Biodeterioration & Biodegradation, 2011Five fungal species representing the three major spalting categories were inoculated onto wood of five different urban tree species with low to moderate economic value. Sugar maple (Acer saccharum) was also inoculated to serve as a control. Test samples were evaluated both internally and externally for spalting.
