Enhanced Electrochemical CO2 Reduction Using Nonthermal Plasma: Insights into Pd Catalyst Reactivation and Precise Control of H2O2 for Improved CO2 Reduction Reaction Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, EarlyView.
This study presents a novel approach to enhance electrochemical CO2 reduction using nonthermal plasma‐generated hydrogen peroxide. By reactivating palladium catalysts and mitigating CO poisoning, the system achieves improved selectivity and efficiency in CO2 conversion.

Making spaces for collaborative action and learning: Reflections on teacher‐led decolonising initiatives from a professional learning network in England

open access: yesThe Curriculum Journal, Volume 34, Issue 1, Page 100-117, March 2023., 2023
Abstract This article draws on the experiences of teachers and teacher educators within the “Bristol Decolonising Network”, an informal professional learning network based in South West England, to share examples of teacher‐led decolonising/antiracist initiatives. The seven vignettes presented cover a range of subject areas across the English Secondary

Biomimetic Localized Gel Electrolyte for Practical Zinc Anode

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
This study introduces a biomimetic antifreeze protein localized gel electrolyte (ALGE), which combines electrolyte modification and interface optimization to tackle the challenges of zinc batteries. ALGE suppresses hydrogen evolution and promotes uniform zinc deposition, enabling excellent cycling performance in both symmetric cells and pouch cells ...

Benefit from Biomass Boiler Emissions to Increase Greenhouse CO2 Levels for Optimal Growth and Yield in Tomato, Cucumber, and Strawberry

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, EarlyView.
Using CO2‐rich polluting gases in greenhouse plant cultivation has proven to be a promising technique for stimulating plants while reducing emissions to the atmosphere. The use of an experimental biofilter proves to be effective in retaining most of the toxic particles. The alteration of physiological and metabolic parameters shows an adaptation of the

‘Deep understanding’ for anti‐racist school transformation: School leaders' professional development in the context of Black Lives Matter

open access: yesThe Curriculum Journal, Volume 34, Issue 1, Page 156-172, March 2023., 2023
Abstract In June 2020, the world witnessed an upsurge in Black Lives Matter (BLM) demonstrations following the murder of George Floyd, an African American, by a White American police officer. The international response called for the global community to reassess the value of black lives blighted by racist social systems.

Effective CO2 Decomposition in a Nonthermal Atmospheric Pressure Plasma Jet System Coupled with CuO Catalysts

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, EarlyView.
The plasma–catalyst system facilitates both homogeneous (plasma‐only) and heterogeneous (plasma–catalyst) CO2 decomposition. Initially, CO2 molecules are dissociated by plasma‐generated energetic species, while long‐lived reactive species further interact with the plasma‐activated CuO catalyst to enhance CO2 decomposition.

H2S Sensing with SnO2‐Based Gas Sensors: Sulfur Poisoning Mechanism Revealed by Operando DRIFTS and DFT Calculations

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
The formation of sticky sulfite and sulfate surface species is identified as the root cause of the poisoning effect of H2S on SnO2‐based sensors by the compelling results and detailed analyses from operando DRIFTS experiments and density functional theory (DFT) calculations.
