Designed Biomaterial‐Enhanced Cell Transplantation for Neural Tissue Engineering
Biomaterials offer a promising solution for cell transplantation in the central nervous system by creating a protective environment that enhances cell survival, integration, and functional recovery in preclinical models of neurological disorders. ABSTRACT Cell transplantation therapy in the central nervous system is hindered by limited survival and ...

Spark Ignition - Searching for the Optimal Spark Profile
The impact of different spark designs on the ignition and combustion stability is studied using a 13-liter CNG fueled heavy duty spark ignited engine to search for the “optimal” spark design. Experimental results show that robust ignition can be achieved using a significantly shorter spark duration and lower energy than expected. A capacitive discharge

Grass functional traits reflect the long history of fire and grazers in the savannas of Texas
Abstract Premise Understanding relationships among grass traits, fire, and herbivores may help improve conservation strategies for savannas that are threatened by novel disturbance regimes. Emerging theory, developed in Africa, emphasizes that functional traits of savanna grasses reflect the distinct ways that fire and grazers consume biomass ...

Advances in electrochemical detection methods for measuring contaminants of emerging concerns
Abstract The presence of contaminants of emerging concerns (CECs) such as pharmaceuticals and personal care products, endocrine disrupting compounds (EDCs), per/poly‐fluorinated substances (PFAS), pesticides, and nanomaterials poses significant challenges to the environment and human health.

In this paper, an epoxy is blended with a phosphorus‐based flame retardant, DEPAL (OP935). Several thermomechanical (thermogravimetric analysis, dynamic mechanical analysis, three‐point bending, Charpy impact test) and flammability (cone calorimeter, UL94) methods are used to evaluate the effect of the flame retardant on these performance aspects ...
