This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Method for estimating dimensions and visualising changes in multi-epoch point clouds
The increasing amount of 3D data collected accumulates in datasets that can be used for change detection. In particular, multi-epoch datasets representing a single scene enable assessing rates of change.

Why human connection is the true metric of research success
Human‐centred mentorship can be shaped by mentor attributes, actions, intrinsic drive and career ambition. Drawing on reflections across Singapore and France, as well as workshop insights from FEBS‐IUBMB ENABLE 2024, this article shows that human‐centred mentorship creates the conditions for sustainable growth, well‐being and retention in research ...

Large Spatial Database Indexing with aX-tree [PDF]
Spatial databases are optimized for the management of data stored based on their geometric space. Researchers through high degree scalability have proposed several spatial indexing structures towards this effect.

AbstractBae and Park found an upper bound on the arc index of prime links in terms of the minimal crossing number. In this paper, we extend the definition of the arc presentation to spatial graphs and find an upper bound on the arc index of any spatial graph as where is the minimal crossing number of , is the number of edges, and is the number of

Chemotherapy side effects significantly impact cancer survivors' quality of life. Using protein levels in blood samples from breast cancer patients before and after 12 weeks of taxane treatment, we detected treatment‐dependent changes in calcium signaling and aging pathways associated with cancer recurrence.

Enhanced image retrieval using spatial information and ontologies
New approaches are essential to improve the inference of semantic relationships from low-level features for image annotation and retrieval. Current research on image annotation sometimes represents images in terms of regions and objects, but pays little ...

Long‐term hippocampal alterations and cognitive impairment in a murine model of surgical sepsis
Using a mouse model of surgical sepsis, we tested long‐term memory and analyzed the transcriptome of single cells isolated from the hippocampus. Survivor mice showed worse memory, loss of certain brain cell subpopulations, and abnormal immune cell activity—suggesting that post‐sepsis brain alterations may be linked to cognitive deficits.
