Reconfigurable all-diffractive optical filters using phase-only spatial light modulators
We demonstrate a reconfigurable optical filter implemented using a phase-only two-dimensional liquid crystal on silicon spatial light modulator. To achieve this we utilize two different approaches leading to two different configurations in the modulator.

Universal linear optical operations on discrete phase-coherent spatial modes [PDF]
Linear optical operations are fundamental and significant for both quantum mechanics and classical technologies. We demonstrate a non-cascaded approach to perform arbitrary unitary and non-unitary linear operations for N-dimensional phase-coherent ...

Generation of Higher-Order Hermite–Gaussian Modes via Cascaded Phase-Only Spatial Light Modulators
The spatial distribution of higher-order Hermite–Gaussian (HG) modes is more complicated than the fundamental mode, and the characteristics of different modes and their orthogonal characteristics have essential applications in the fields of measurement ...

Multi-dimensional laser spectroscopy of exciton-polaritons with spatial light modulators
We describe an experimental system that allows one to easily access the dispersion curve of exciton-polaritons in a microcavity. Our approach is based on two spatial light modulators (SLM), one for changing the excitation angles (momenta), and the other ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Three-dimensional spatiotemporal focusing of holographic patterns
Three-dimensional computer-generated holography cannot be implemented with temporal focusing. Here, Hernandez et al. use two spatial light modulators to control transverse- and axial-target light distribution, generating spatiotemporally focused patterns

Photorefractive incoherent-to-coherent optical converter [PDF]
Photorefractive materials have been extensively used in recent years as real-time recording media for optical holography.(^1,2) One prospective application of real-time holography is in the area of optical information processing; for example, the ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.
