Spatial modes in magnetoencephalography spatio-temporal patterns

No.03CH37439), 2004In this paper, spatio-temporal patterns observed in brain magnetic activity have been characterized as a superposition of basis spatial modes. The proposed approach first isolates spatial modes by using spatial independent component methodology and then classifies them by performing a clustering strategy.

SPATIAL LOCKING OF LASER MODES
Soviet Journal of Quantum Electronics, 1973It is shown that coherent wave fields in the form of a locked superposition of oscillations of degenerate transverse modes can be established in a laser resonator. This approach can be used to reduce the number of frequencies emitted by the laser and to improve the angular divergence of the output radiation.

Spatially Distributed Networked Sliding Mode Control
IEEE Control Systems Letters, 2019A robust control algorithm for spatially distributed multi-input networked control systems with time-varying transmission delays is proposed. In order to increase the dependability of the spatially distributed scheme, a pivotal requirement to the algorithm is the exclusive usage of locally available information in each controller node.

Self-starting mode locking by multi-spatial-mode active waveguiding
Optics Letters, 2006We demonstrate a novel principle of self-starting mode locking in a compact semiconductor laser diode, where the needed saturable loss is provided by spatial effects resulting from multi-spatial-mode active waveguiding. The demonstrated device operates over a 1.54 microm wavelength range and has a repetition rate of 47 GHz.
