A Grid for Multidimensional and Multivariate Spatial Representation and Data Processing

open access: yesJournal of Open Research Software, 2020
Researchers use 2D and 3D spatial models of multivariate data of differing resolutions and formats. It can be challenging to work with multiple datasets, and it is time consuming to set up a robust, performant grid to handle such spatial models. We share

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Algorithmic Support for Environmental Impact Assessment of Road Transport Infrastructure on Atmospheric Air in Urban Areas

open access: yesИзвестия высших учебных заведений России: Радиоэлектроника
Introduction. In this study, we develop a system for assessing the environmental impact of road transport on air quality in cities. The research relevance is determined by the need to create improved approaches to assessing air pollution in cities ...

Model-Based Estimation of Collision Risks of Predatory Birds with Wind Turbines

open access: yesEcology and Society, 2012
The expansion of renewable energies, such as wind power, is a promising way of mitigating climate change. Because of the risk of collision with rotor blades, wind turbines have negative effects on local bird populations, particularly on raptors such as ...

UP à contre-sens

open access: yesCorela, 2022
Our aim in this article is to point out that mainstream spatial models (either world-based or experience-based) prove largely inadequate for the analysis of verbal particles in English.

Attention Based Spatial-Temporal Graph Convolutional Networks for Traffic Flow Forecasting

open access: yesAAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence, 2019
Forecasting the traffic flows is a critical issue for researchers and practitioners in the field of transportation. However, it is very challenging since the traffic flows usually show high nonlinearities and complex patterns.

Spatial-Temporal Synchronous Graph Convolutional Networks: A New Framework for Spatial-Temporal Network Data Forecasting

open access: yesAAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence, 2020
Spatial-temporal network data forecasting is of great importance in a huge amount of applications for traffic management and urban planning. However, the underlying complex spatial-temporal correlations and heterogeneities make this problem challenging ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Continuous Indoor Visual Localization Using a Spatial Model and Constraint

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Visual localization is an accurate and low-cost indoor localization solution. A bottleneck for visual localization is the computation efficiency of continuous image searching and matching.
