Investigating transcription factor dynamics in health and disease using FRAP
FRAP analysis of GFP‐tagged transcription factors reveals how molecular mobility and target engagement change in response to drug treatment. By combining live‐cell imaging, quantitative model fitting, and statistical analysis, this approach uncovers transcription factor dynamics linked to disease mechanisms, providing a powerful framework for ...

Can internet search queries be used for dengue fever surveillance in China?
China experienced an unprecedented outbreak of dengue fever in 2014, and the number of cases reached the highest level over the past 25 years. Traditional sentinel surveillance systems of dengue fever in China have an obvious drawback that the average ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Probabilistic Spatial Queries on Existentially Uncertain Data [PDF]
. We study the problem of answering spatial queries in databases where objects exist with some uncertainty and they are associated with an existential probability.

Construct Trip Graphs by Using Taxi Trajectory Data
The trip graph, which can model the residents’ taxi demands, consists of vertices used to indicate trips and edges used to indicate the follow-up relationships between trips. A trip $$v_j$$ v j is a tight follow-up trip of another trip $$v_i$$ v i , if a

Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Improving Spatial neighbor Index Performance Based on [PDF]
Spatial data consists of objects in space made up of points, lines, regions and data of higher dimensions. Access method is required to support efficient manipulation of the multi-dimensional spatial objects in the secondary storage.

Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...
