A NOVEL APPROACH OF INDEXING AND RETRIEVING SPATIAL POLYGONS FOR EFFICIENT SPATIAL REGION QUERIES [PDF]

open access: yesISPRS Annals of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2017
Spatial region queries are more and more widely used in web-based applications. Mechanisms to provide efficient query processing over geospatial data are essential. However, due to the massive geospatial data volume, heavy geometric computation, and high

Groups Nearest Neighbor Query of Mixed Data in Spatial Database [PDF]

open access: yesJisuanji kexue yu tansuo, 2022
The existing group nearest neighbor query methods mainly abstract data objects in space as points or line segments for processing. However, in real applications, simply abstracting spatial objects into points or line segments often affects the accuracy ...

An Efficient Top- $K$ Spatial Keyword Typicality and Semantic Query

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Existing spatial keyword query processing models mainly consider the spatial proximity and text relevancy between spatial objects and spatial keyword query, which usually makes the top-k answer objects are similar to each other.

Efficient spatial query processing for big data [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 22nd ACM SIGSPATIAL International Conference on Advances in Geographic Information Systems, 2014
Spatial queries are widely used in many data mining and analytics applications. However, a huge and growing size of spatial data makes it challenging to process the spatial queries efficiently. In this paper we present a lightweight and scalable spatial index for big data stored in distributed storage systems.

Gridvoronoi: An Efficient Spatial Index for Nearest Neighbor Query Processing

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
In this paper, based upon Voronoi Diagram, we propose GridVoronoi which is a novel spatial index that enables users to find the spatial nearest neighbour (NN) from two-dimensional (2D) datasets in almost O(1) time.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
