R&D Spillovers: A Non-Spatial and a Spatial Examination

open access: yesAustrian Journal of Statistics, 2016
In recent years there were many debates and different opinions whether R&D spillover effects exist or not. In 1995 Coe and Helpman published a study about this phenomenon, based on a panel dataset, that supports the position that such R&D spillover ...

Tuning Amorphous‐Crystalline Catalytic Interfaces by Mechanochemistry: Cu‐Based Metallic Glasses Coupled with Ceria for CO Oxidation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Ball‐milling Cu‐based metallic glasses with ceria creates a unique nanostructure where metallic glass particles are wrapped by CeO2 nanoparticles. The intimate integration triggers copper state reorganization during reaction and aging, boosting CO oxidation and COPrOx activity.

Co1/Ru Single‐Atom Alloy Catalyst for Sustainable Polypropylene Hydrogenolysis to Long‐Chain Liquid Products

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A titania‐supported Co1/Ru single‐atom alloy catalyst enables efficient polypropylene hydrogenolysis. Ru─Co─Ru motifs maintain Ru activity while suppressing excessive chain scission to gaseous products. Both virgin and waste plastics achieve high, environmentally and economically optimal C11+ liquid yields, supporting sustainable chemical recycling ...

Success or paradox? Explaining South Korean export behaviour: spatial spillover effects and destination markets

open access: yes, 2023
This paper aims to apply spatial econometric models to provide empirical evidence that is necessary to explain the expansion of the destination markets and spillover effects of Korean exports during the period of this study between 1995 and 2015 while no

Flexible Chemiresistive Chitosan‐Glycerol Sensors on Laser‐Induced Graphene Electrodes for Room‐Temperature Ammonia Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Flexible Chitosan‐glycerol sensor integrated with porous laser‐induced graphene (LIG) electrodes enable room‐temperature chemiresistive detection of ammonia (NH3) and proof‐of‐concept detection of fish spoilage. ABSTRACT We report a metal‐free sensor platform combining laser induced graphene (LIG) electrodes with drop‐deposited, glycerol‐plasticized ...

When It Rains, It Pours: Estimating the Spatial Spillover Effect of Rainfall

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal, 2018
AbstractA large fraction of the world’s poor rely on rain-fed agriculture, which makes them vulnerable to changes in rainfall patterns. In this paper, we examine whether spatial correlation in rainfall results in these households also being vulnerable to an adverse spatial-spillover effect.

Multiscale Microscopy via Automation: Dual Magnification Environmental Scanning Electron Microscopy Imaging by Frame Alternation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
An automation interface for environmental scanning electron microscopy (ESEM) enables simultaneous, interlaced data sets via frame‐by‐frame parameter changes. Demonstrated on oscillatory hydrogen oxidation over cobalt (Co) foil, dual‐magnification imaging bridges mesoscopic to microscopic length scales, capturing alternating views of surface dynamics ...

Frustrated Lewis Pairs and Metallic Ni Synergistically Enabled Low‐Temperature Hydrogenolysis of Lignin Models

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nickel–aluminum composite oxide (NiAlOx‐300) derived from NiAl layered double hydroxide showed high activity for hydrogenolysis of various lignin models. Especially, hydrogenolysis of benzyl phenyl ether could be efficiently proceeded at 20°C and 1 MPa H2.

Recent Advances in Laser‐Induced Graphene‐Based Gas Sensors: From Sensing Mechanisms to Biomedical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Laser‐induced graphene (LIG) provides a scalable, laser‐direct‐written route to porous graphene architecture with tunable chemistry and defect density. Through heterojunction engineering, catalytic functionalization, and intrinsic self‐heating, LIG achieves highly sensitive and selective detection of NOX, NH3, H2, and humidity, supporting next ...
