Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.

Temporal and Spatial Evolution Analysis of Earthquake Events in California and Nevada Based on Spatial Statistics

open access: yesISPRS International Journal of Geo-Information, 2021
Studying the temporal and spatial evolution trends in earthquakes in an area is beneficial for determining the earthquake risk of the area so that local governments can make the correct decisions for disaster prevention and reduction.

Log-Poisson Statistics and Extended Self-Similarity in Driven Dissipative Systems

open access: yes, 2004
The Bak-Chen-Tang forest fire model was proposed as a toy model of turbulent systems, where energy (in the form of trees) is injected uniformly and globally, but is dissipated (burns) locally.

Adaptaquin is selectively toxic to glioma stem cells through disruption of iron and cholesterol metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.

Identification of flooding susceptible areas by soil infiltration spatial correlation patterns [PDF]

open access: yesمخاطرات محیط طبیعی, 2019
Soil properties at the lands lot scale is a process that effects on infiltration rates, which can lead to an increased stormwater runoff. Sustainable land management for runoff controls requires reliable information on the spatial distribution of soil ...

Reduced vascular leakage correlates with breast carcinoma T regulatory cell infiltration but not with metastatic propensity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A mouse model for vascular normalization and a human breast cancer cohort were studied to understand the relationship between vascular leakage and tumor immune suppression. For this, endothelial and immune cell RNAseq, staining for vascular function, and immune cell profiling were employed.

Identifying Spatial Variability in Greenland's Outlet Glacier Response to Ocean Heat

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science, 2018
Although the Greenland ice sheet is losing mass as a whole, patterns of change on both local and regional scales are complex. Spatial statistics reveal large spatial variability of dynamic thinning rates of Greenland's marine-terminating glaciers between

Analysis of Spatially Distributed Data in Internet of Things in the Environmental Context

open access: yesSensors, 2022
The Internet of Things consists of “things” made up of small sensors and actuators capable of interacting with the environment. The combination of devices with sensor networks and Internet access enables the communication between the physical world and ...

Intein‐based modular chimeric antigen receptor platform for specific CD19/CD20 co‐targeting

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CARtein is a modular CAR platform that uses split inteins to splice antigen‐recognition modules onto a universal signaling backbone, enabling precise, scarless assembly without re‐engineering signaling domains. Deployed here against CD19 and CD20 in B‐cell malignancies, the design supports flexible multi‐antigen targeting to boost T‐cell activation and
