A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Asymptotic Distribution of the OLS Estimator for a Mixed Regressive, Spatial Autoregressive Model

open access: yes
We find the asymptotics of the OLS estimator of the parameters $\beta$ and $\rho$ in the spatial autoregressive model with exogenous regressors $Y_n = X_n\beta+\rho W_nY_n+V_n$. Only low-level conditions are imposed.

Modeling Spatial Autocorrelation in Spatial Interaction Data: A Comparison of Spatial Econometric and Spatial Filtering Specifications [PDF]

open access: yes
The need to account for spatial autocorrelation is well known in spatial analysis. Many spatial statistics and spatial econometric texts detail the way spatial autocorrelation can be identified and modelled in the case of object and field data.

Temporal Patterns of the Two-Dimensional Spatial Trends in Summer Temperature and Monsoon Precipitation of Bangladesh

open access: yes, 2013
Two climate indices, TXx and PRCPTOT, representing the summer maximum temperature and annual total monsoon precipitation, respectively, in Bangladesh were computed. The temperature and precipitation measurements from 34 meteorological stations during the

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Economic effects of pandemic-related restrictions in Russia and their spatial heterogeneity

open access: yes, 2020
Relevance. The spatial dimension of economic development is always in the focus of the political and research agenda. Regional disparities, along with different rates of the spread of the coronavirus pandemic and decentralization of restrictive measures,

Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...

Spatial circular matrices, with applications [PDF]

open access: yes
The cumulants of the quadratic forms associated to the so-called spatial design matrices are often needed for inference in the context of isotropic processes on uniform grids.

Iron homeostasis disruption and lipid peroxidation in skeletal muscle during short‐term immobilization

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
14‐day casting‐induced immobilization reduced gastrocnemius muscle mass and increased non‐heme iron and ferritin heavy chain levels. Despite iron accumulation, transferrin receptor 1 and iron regulatory protein 2 were paradoxically upregulated. Lipid peroxidation was elevated without compensatory antioxidant responses.
