ABSTRACT This article interrogates the production of ‘fraud’ at the interface between welfare and migration regimes. Taking the welfare micropublic of children's social care in the UK as a case study, we focus on encounters between migrant families subject to the ‘no recourse to public funds’ immigration condition and London local authorities.

The Evolution of Male Weapons Is Associated with the Type of Breeding Site in a Clade of Neotropical Frogs

Male weaponry evolution is often linked to male–male competition, but its relationship with breeding site type remains unclear. Using Leptodactylinae frogs, we found a macroevolutionary correlation between breeding site type and weapon evolution. Also, gains and losses of weapons occurred more frequently in exposed‐breeding sites, an unexpected finding.

Whole‐Genome Sequencing and Resequencing of Hucho bleekeri Provides Insights into Genetic Mechanisms of Environmental Adaptation

A high‐quality chromosome‐level reference genome was constructed for Hucho bleekeri. Population structure and environmental adaptation of Hucho species were revealed by whole‐genome resequencing. Warm Spring Weather Alters Calling Phenology of Four Sympatric Early‐Breeding Anurans

Integrative Zoology, EarlyView.
An unusually warm March in 2024 (“false spring”) followed by freezing temperatures allowed us to assess the impact of a weather event on an amphibian community. The calling activity of all four species was associated with increasing temperature, and the first date of calling was advanced by 11–18 days.

NePO: Neural Point Octrees for Large‐Scale Novel View Synthesis

We introduce Neural Point Octrees (NePOs), a scalable radiance field representation that organises point clouds hierarchically for efficient optimisation and rendering of large scale scenes. NePOs enable level of detail selection, joint refinement of appearance and camera poses, and real‐time rendering of hundreds of millions of points.
