Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Determination of Energy Requirements, Plowed Soil Volume Rate and Soil Pulverization Ratio of Chisel Plow Under Various Operating Conditions

open access: yesMaǧallaẗ al-baṣraẗ al-ʻulūm al-zirāʻiyyaẗ, 2017
A field experiments were conducted using a chisel plow in silty loam soil at Agricultural Research Station of Garmat Ali in 2017. Three different levels of forward speed (0.65, 0.87 and 1.65 m sec-1) and plowing depth (10, 20 and 30 cm) were used tostudy

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Thermal-breaking characteristics and crack distribution of rock irradiated by laser beams

open access: yesYantu gongcheng xuebao
The laser-assisted rock breaking is a non-contact technology employed for the rock fragmentation, with its efficiency contingent upon the laser power, irradiation time and defocusing distance. To explore the effects of various irradiation parameters, the

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Calculation of critical flow depth using method of algebraic inequality

open access: yesJournal of Hydrology and Hydromechanics, 2018
To calculate the critical depth and the least specific energy of steady non-uniform flows in open channels, one has to solve the polynomial equations. Sometimes, the polynomial equations are too difficult to get them solved.

Field comparison between two rotary plows under different speed and number of shares [PDF]

open access: yesTikrit Journal for Agricultural Sciences
For aim of comparing two rotary plow factorial experiment conducted in silt clay loam. L and C shape of the blade in two rotary plows, tractor speed 4.6 and 8.7 km.h-1 and depth of tillage 8 and 15 cm were used as experiment factors.

The ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy as guardians of the cellular proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This Perspective covers the three principles governing the crosstalk between the ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy in cellular proteostasis: (1) a shared ubiquitin code routing substrates via shuttle factors or autophagy receptors; (2) spatial compartmentalization into phase‐separated degradation hubs and organelle‐specific modules (exemplified
