Deformation Measurements at the Sub-Micron Size Scale: II. Refinements in the Algorithm for Digital Image Correction [PDF]
Improvements are proposed in the application of the Digital Image Correlation method, a technique that compares digital images of a specimen surface before and after deformation to deduce its sureface (2-D) displacement field and strains.

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Progress towards an optimal specimen support for electron cryomicroscopy
The physical principles of electron-specimen interaction govern the design of specimen supports for electron cryomicroscopy (cryo-EM). Supports are constructed to suspend biological samples within the vacuum of the electron microscope in a way that maximises image contrast.

Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.
