Advanced methods for assessing sealing ability of valve seals
The paper deals with the processes that arise when sealing valve contact surfaces. A mathematical model of elastic contact is proposed that allows solving the problem of deformation of contacting surfaces with allowance for their rigidity by solving a ...

Speckle Interferometry at SOAR Telescope in 2023
Results of the speckle-interferometry observations at the 4.1 m Southern Astrophysical Research Telescope obtained during 2023 are presented: 1913 measurements of 1533 resolved pairs or subsystems (median separation 0.″16) and nonresolutions of 552 ...

New orbits based on speckle interferometry at SOAR [PDF]
Orbits of 55 visual binary stars are computed using recent speckle interferometry data from the SOAR telescope: 33 first-time orbits and 22 revisions of previous orbit calculations. The orbital periods range from 1.4 to 370 years, the quality of orbits ranges from definitive to preliminary and tentative.

Reducing phase singularities in speckle interferometry by coherence tailoring [PDF]
Speckle interferometry is an established optical metrology tool for the characterization of rough objects. The raw phase, however, is impaired by the presence of phase singularities, making the unwrapping procedure ambiguous. In a Michelson setup, we tailor the spatial coherence of the light source, achieving a physical averaging of independent ...

Speckle-based off-axis holographic detection for non-contact photoacoustic tomography
A very fast innovative holographic off-axis non-contact detection method for Photoacoustic Tomography (PAT) is introduced. It overcomes the main problems of most state-of-the-art photoacoustic imaging approaches that are long acquisition times and the ...

The large number of exoplanets discovered with the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) means that any observational biases from TESS could influence the derived stellar multiplicity statistics of exoplanet host stars. To investigate this problem,

A hybrid technique for residual stress analysis through stress function fitting
This work presents a hybrid experimental theoretical technique for residual stresses analysis of mechanical components. It was used the blind hole technique along with the Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry (ESPI) method and Airy stress functions ...

The "PISCO" speckle camera at Pic du Midi Observatory [PDF]
We present a new speckle camera designed and built at Observatoire Midi-Pyr\'{e}n\'{e}es. This focal instrument has been used for four years with the 2-meter Bernard Lyot Telescope of Pic du Midi observatory. It can be set in various operating modes: full pupil imaging, masked-pupil imaging, spectroscopy, wave-front sensor and stellar coronagraphy ...
