A Systematic Comparison of Alpha‐Synuclein Seed Amplification Assays for Increasing Reproducibility

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Seed amplification assays (SAAs) enable ultrasensitive detection of misfolded α‐synuclein across biofluids and tissues. Yet, heterogeneity in protocols limits cross‐study comparability and clinical translation. Here, we review α‐synuclein SAA methods and their performance across various biological matrices.

Advancing Age Modulates Associations Between Cognitive Impairment and Brain Volumes in Early MS

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Cognitive impairment is common in multiple sclerosis (MS), but manifestations following the first demyelinating event are relatively unexplored. We investigated cross‐sectional associations between magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)–derived brain volumes and the presence of cognitive impairment outcomes five years after the first ...

Spectral characteristics of acoustic cavitation

Ultrasonics, 1989
This paper reports on theoretical research into the dynamics, acoustic noise and noise spectrum of a single cavitation bubble affected by non-gradiental acoustic fields. It is shown that all the characteristic features of experimental acoustic cavitation spectra occur in the spectrum of a single bubble.

Spectral Characteristics of Acylsilanes

Spectroscopy Letters, 1978
Abstract The spectra of a series of aliphatic and aromatic acylsilanes were recorded using ir, uv, 1H, 13C, and 29Si nmr techniques. The spectra of analogous ketones and an amide and phosphamide were also recorded to permit direct comparison. The silanes consistently exibited a downfield shift of 30 ppm for the 13C nmr carbonyl resonances relative to ...

Spectral characteristics of heterostructures

Solar Energy Materials and Solar Cells, 1997
Abstract We have examined the current-voltage characteristic of i-a-Si:H n-c-Si heterojunction Schottky solar cells in the dark and under different illumination (spectrum AM 1.5) intensities as well as the voltage- and temperature-dependent spectral response of these devices.

Spectral characteristics of surface‐layer turbulence

Quarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, 1972
AbstractThe behaviour of spectra and cospectra of turbulence in the surface layer is described within the framework of similarity theory using wind and temperature fluctuation data obtained in the 1968 AFCRL Kansas experiments. With appropriate normalization, the spectra and cospectra are each reduced to a family of curves which spread out according to

Spectral characteristics of normal breath sounds

Journal of Applied Physiology, 1981
An objective and accurate measurement and characterization of breath sounds was carried out by a fast-Fourier-transform frequency-domain analysis. Normal vesicular breath sounds, picked up over the chest wall of 10 healthy subjects showed a characteristic pattern: the power of the signal decreased exponentially as frequency increased.

Spectral characteristics of resonant link inverters

PESC `92 Record. 23rd Annual IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 1993
The limitations on the operating frequency of hard-switched and resonant-link inverters are studied. The maximum operating frequency of a hard-switched inverter is found to be well defined by the allowed power dissipation and the switching losses. For resonant link inverters the upper limit is not so well defined and depends on a trade-off between a ...

Phospholipid polymers—Synthesis and spectral characteristics

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Biomembranes, 1980
A new approach has been developed for the study of model and natural biomembranes. This involves the cross-linking of diacetylene groups after ultraviolet irradiation. For the study of model biomembranes, pure phospholipids (phosphatidylcholines) have been synthesized containing diacetylene groups in each acyl chain.
