Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

Energy Efficiency and Asymptotic Performance Evaluation of Beamforming Structures in Doubly Massive MIMO mmWave Systems

open access: yes, 2017
Future cellular systems based on the use of millimeter waves will heavily rely on the use of antenna arrays both at the transmitter and at the receiver.

Adenosine‐to‐inosine editing of miR‐200b‐3p is associated with the progression of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A‐to‐I editing of miRNAs, particularly miR‐200b‐3p, contributes to HGSOC progression by enhancing cancer cell proliferation, migration and 3D growth. The edited form is linked to poorer patient survival and the identification of novel molecular targets.

Integrated genomic and proteomic profiling reveals insights into chemoradiation resistance in cervical cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.

Spectrally efficient four-dimensional modulation [PDF]

open access: yesOptical Fiber Communication Conference, 2012
We quantify the performance of regular four-dimensional constellations with high spectral efficiency, and compare the sensitivity gain relative to rectangular QAM. Gains up to 1.51 and 1.97 dB over the corresponding QAM formats can be achieved.

Distributed Spectral Efficiency Maximization in Full-Duplex Cellular Networks

open access: yes, 2016
Three-node full-duplex is a promising new transmission mode between a full-duplex capable wireless node and two other wireless nodes that use half-duplex transmission and reception respectively.

Improving the Coverage and Spectral Efficiency of Millimeter-Wave Cellular Networks Using Device-to-Device Relays [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Communications, 2016
The susceptibility of millimeter waveform propagation to blockages limits the coverage of millimeter-wave (mmWave) signals. To overcome blockages, we propose to leverage two-hop device-to-device (D2D) relaying.

Patient‐specific pharmacogenomics demonstrates xCT as predictive therapeutic target in colon cancer with possible implications in tumor connectivity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...

A Novel Codeword Selection Scheme for MIMO-MAC Lower-Bound Maximization

open access: yesEntropy, 2018
Aiming at the limitations of the existing Limited Feedback Interference Alignment algorithms, this paper proposes a direct codeword selection scheme that maximizes the lower-bound of the user rate and reduces the sum rate loss by integrating the Bit ...
