Frequency Domain Multi-Carrier Modulation Based on Prolate Spheroidal Wave Functions

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
A novel frequency domain multi-carrier modulation (MCM-FD) scheme is proposed based on prolate spheroidal wave functions (PSWFs) for reducing the high complexity in the conventional time domain PSWFs multi-carrier modulation (MCM-PSWFs-TD) schemes.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Targeting p38α in cancer: challenges, opportunities, and emerging strategies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
p38α normally regulates cellular stress responses and homeostasis and suppresses malignant transformation. In cancer, however, p38α is co‐opted to drive context‐dependent proliferation and dissemination. p38α also supports key functions in cells of the tumor microenvironment, including fibroblasts, myeloid cells, and T lymphocytes.

UAV-Assisted IRS System With Energy Harvesting: Enhanced Reliability in Critical Scenarios for 5G/6G Wireless Communication

open access: yesIEEE Access
This paper proposes an UAV-assisted intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) system for improving the network performance between ground-to-ground (G2G) users in 5G/6G wireless communication.

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

On the Design and Performance Analysis of Low-Correlation Compact Space-Multimode Diversity Stacked Microstrip Antenna Arrays for MIMO-OFDM WLANs over Statistically-Clustered Indoor Radio Channels [PDF]

open access: yesRadioengineering, 2015
The support of high spectral efficiency MIMO spatial-multiplexing communication in OFDM-based WLAN systems conforming to IEEE 802.11n standard requires the design and use of compact antennas and arrays with low correlation ports.

Uplink Transmit Power Control for Single-Carrier Grouped FDMA with Iterative Multiuser Detection

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
We consider an uplink power allocation scheme for single-carrier frequency-division multiple access (FDMA) with iterative multiuser detection, called single-carrier grouped FDMA (SC-GFDMA). SC-GFDMA is a non-orthogonal scheme in which several users share
