The Accuracy of Frequency Estimation of Structure Vibration under Ambient Excitation: Problems, Causes, and Methods

open access: yesBuildings
Accurate identification of building structure frequencies forms the basis for damage detection. The structural dynamic response signal, under ambient excitation, can be transformed into a superposition of multiple single-frequency exponentially damped ...

The Mid-infrared Molecular Inventory toward Orion IRc2

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2023
We present the first high spectral resolution mid-infrared survey in the Orion BN/KL region, covering 7.2–28.3 μ m. With SOFIA/EXES, we target the enigmatic source Orion IRc2.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Near-infrared Spectroscopy of the Sun and Solar Analog Star HD 76151: Compiling an Extensive Line List in the Y, J, H, and K Bands

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Determining the physical nature of a star requires precise knowledge of its stellar atmospheric parameters, including effective temperature, surface gravity, and metallicity. This study presents a new atomic line list covering a broad spectral range (1–2.

The Anomalous Influence of Spectral Resolution on Pulsed THz Time Domain Spectroscopy under Real Conditions

open access: yesSensors, 2017
We have studied the spectral resolution influence on the accuracy of the substance detection and identification at using a broadband THz pulse measured under real conditions (at a distance of more than 3 m from a THz emitter in ambient air with a ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...
