Origin of the `He/N' and `Fe II' Spectral Classes of Novae
The spectra of postoutburst novae display either He+N or Fe II lines as the most prominent non-Balmer lines at maximum light. Spectral diagnostics indicate physical conditions for 'He/N' spectra that are consistent with their origin in the white dwarf ...

Rational design and synthesis of SERS labels [PDF]
SERS labels are a new class of nanotags for optical detection based on Raman scattering. Central advantages include their spectral multiplexing capacity due to the small line width of vibrational Raman bands, quantification based on spectral intensities,

Identification of single spectral lines through machine learning
The Identification of redshifted spectral lines is unequivocal when multiple lines with high S/N ratios are detected. In these cases, the distances measured between each pair of lines represent the reference used for the identification. However, when only one spectral line is detected, its identification becomes extremely difficult.

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

IGR J22517+2218=MG3 J225155+2217: a new gamma-ray lighthouse in the distant Universe
We report on the identification of a new soft gamma ray source, namely IGR J22517+2218, detected with IBIS/INTEGRAL. The source, which has an observed 20-100 keV flux of ~4 x10^-11 erg cm-2 s-1, is spatially coincident with MG3 J225155+2217, a quasar at ...

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Identification of X-ray lines in the spectrum of the arcsec-scale precessing jets of SS 433
The extended X-ray emission observed at arcsec scales along the propagation trajectory of the precessing relativistic jets of the Galactic microquasar SS 433 features a broad emission line, with the position of the centroid being significantly different ...

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve
