COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Identification and Determination of the Bloodstains Dry Time in the Crime Scenes Using Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2019
The bloodstain is one kind of the most important evidences in crime scenes. Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) technology was used in this paper to distinguish bloodstains from analogs and determine the time since deposited (TSD) of bloodstains.

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Spectroscopic r-process Abundance Retrieval for Kilonovae. II. Lanthanides in the Inferred Abundance Patterns of Multicomponent Ejecta from the GW170817 Kilonova

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
In kilonovae, freshly synthesized r -process elements imprint features on optical spectra, as observed in AT2017gfo, the counterpart to the GW170817 binary neutron star merger.

Spectral line identification from a photoionised silicon plasma in emission

open access: yesJournal of Plasma Physics
Next-generation X-ray satellite telescopes such as XRISM, NewAthena and Lynx will enable observations of exotic astrophysical sources at unprecedented spectral and spatial resolution. Proper interpretation of these data demands that the accuracy of the models is at least within the uncertainty of the observations.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Interstellar Detection of O-protonated Carbonyl Sulfide, HOCS+

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We present the first detection in space of O-protonated carbonyl sulfide (HOCS ^+ ), in the midst of an ultradeep molecular line survey toward the G+0.693-0.027 molecular cloud. From the observation of all K _a = 0 transitions ranging from J _lo = 2 to J

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

Random splicing assisted deep learning for breast cancer cell line classification via Raman spectroscopy

open access: yesComputational and Structural Biotechnology Journal
Raman spectroscopy extracts rich biochemical information on a single cell, demonstrating significant potential for precise cancer identification. While machine learning enhances spectral analysis efficiency, conventional models remain constrained by data
