An Intrinsic Metric for Power Spectral Density Functions [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Signal Processing Letters, 2007
We present an intrinsic metric that quantifies distances between power spectral density functions. The metric was derived by the author in a recent arXiv-report (math.OC/0607026) as the geodesic distance between spectral density functions with respect to a particular pseudo-Riemannian metric motivated by a quadratic prediction problem.

Power Spectral Density Conversions and Nonlinear Dynamics [PDF]

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 1994
To predict the vibration environment of a payload carried by a ground or air transporter, mathematical models are required from which a transfer function to a prescribed input can be calculated.

Model parameter estimations of the multi-channel turbulence response from flutter flight tests based on autoregressive spectra

open access: yesJournal of Low Frequency Noise, Vibration and Active Control, 2023
Signal processing of flutter flight test data enables verification of aircraft flutter design, and the signal from a flutter flight test excited by atmospheric turbulence is a particularly important form of the flutter test.

Power Spectral Density Analysis for Optimizing SERS Structures

open access: yesSensors, 2022
The problem of optimizing the topography of metal structures allowing Surface Enhanced Raman Scattering (SERS) sensing is considered. We developed a model, which randomly distributes hemispheroidal particles over a given area of the glass substrate and ...

Kernel Density Estimation Based Gaussian and Non-Gaussian Random Vibration Data Induction for High-Speed Train Equipment

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Because general statistics tolerance is not applicable to the induction of non-Gaussian vibration data and the methods for converting non-Gaussian data into Gaussian data are not always effective and can increase the estimation error, a novel kernel ...
