Spectral representation of DNA sequences and its application

open access: yes, 2011
Randic et al. proposed a famous spectral graphical representation of DNA sequences, and claimed that it avoids loss of information. In this paper we build two mathematical models for this graphical representation and prove that the claim is correct, and ...

Metastasis on pause: How dormant tumor cells stay hidden within the tumor microenvironment and evade immune surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

Speech Spectral Quantizers for Wideband Speech Coding

open access: yes, 2001
. In this treatise a range of Line Spectrum Frequency (LSF) Vector Quantization (VQ) schemes were studied comparatively, which were designed for wideband speech codecs. Both predictive arrangements and memoryless schemes were investigated.

Novel folded-PCA for improved feature extraction and data reduction with hyperspectral imaging and SAR in remote sensing

open access: yes, 2014
As a widely used approach for feature extraction and data reduction, Principal Components Analysis (PCA) suffers from high computational cost, large memory requirement and low efficacy in dealing with large dimensional datasets such as Hyperspectral ...

Clinical performance of the urine‐based TERT promoter AbsoluteQ Digital PCR for non‐invasive detection of bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.

SpectralGaussians: Semantic, spectral 3D Gaussian splatting for multi-spectral scene representation, visualization and analysis

open access: yes
We propose a novel cross-spectral rendering framework based on 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) that generates realistic and semantically meaningful splats from registered multi-view spectrum and segmentation maps.

Flow Enabled Target Capture Halbach‐based magnetic enrichment increases circulating tumor cell capture from blood in metastatic cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pair‐wise comparison of the CellSearch and FETCH enrichment technologies for circulating tumor cells (CTCs) from metastatic breast, prostate, and small cell lung cancer patients shows an increased capture of CTCs using FETCH enrichment. The clinical implementation of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) as a predictive tool for therapy efficacy in the ...

Spectral Representation and Simulation of Fractional Brownian Motion

open access: yesComputation
This paper gives a new representation for the fractional Brownian motion that can be applied to simulate this self-similar random process in continuous time. Such a representation is based on the spectral form of mathematical description and the spectral
