Optimizing Detection Schemes for Broadband Pump‐Probe Microscopy

open access: yesMicroscopy Research and Technique, Volume 89, Issue 4, Page 551-556, April 2026.
Small spot sizes and broadband spectral coverage create unusual noise challenges for broadband pump‐probe microscopy. Analysis of probe and detector noise characteristics can provide strategies for mitigating these challenges. ABSTRACT Although similar to more commonly implemented single wavelength approaches, broadband pump‐probe or transient ...

Temperature‐Dependent Investigation of the S‐Branch Raman Linewidth in CO2 via Time‐Resolved Rotational CARS

open access: yesJournal of Raman Spectroscopy, Volume 57, Issue 4, Page 725-734, April 2026.
We studied the temporal evolution of the rotational coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (RCARS) signal of CO2 to determine the S‐branch Raman linewidth, which is an essential parameter for accurate spectral modeling in RCARS gas‐phase diagnostics. We found a non‐monotonic J‐dependence of the S‐branch Raman linewidth not accounted for in previously ...

Electrodeposited Functional Coatings for On‐Demand Electro‐Responsive Drug Release and Cell Shape Transformation

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, Volume 311, Issue 4, April 2026.
Graphical abstract showing the biocompatible conductive polymer film which releases the entrapped drug as a response to a stimulus (applied voltage) along with mitigating bacterial growth. ABSTRACT Chronic wounds affect millions of people worldwide, and their treatment can often be ineffective, resulting in substantial healthcare costs.

Cassava Endophytic Bacteriome as Potential Biocontrol Agents Against Three Crop Phytopathogenic Fungi

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 15, Issue 2, April 2026.
Eighty‐four endophytic bacteria from cassava were assessed for antagonistic activity against phytopathogens Colletotrichum siamense, Colletotrichum sublineola and Phytophthora infestans infecting cassava, sorghum and potato, respectively. Fourteen endophytic bacteria exhibited antifungal activity against the three phytopathogens, of which four ...

Recognition of speech spectrograms

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1984
The performance of eight naive observers in learning to identify speech spectrograms was studied over a 2-month period. Single tokens from a 50-word phonetically balanced (PB) list were recorded by several talkers and displayed on a Spectraphonics Speech Spectrographic Display system.

Transverse Doppler in-vivo spectrograms

European Journal of Ultrasound, 1997
Abstract Objective: It is known that a focused ultrasound beam transversely oriented to the direction of flow gives a Doppler spectrum, which despite being centred on zero frequency, has a non-zero bandwidth proportional to the velocity of the insonified flow. This is the main concept of the so-called ‘Transverse Doppler’ theory.

A Primer on EEG Spectrograms

Journal of Clinical Neurophysiology, 2021
Summary: As continuous brain monitoring becomes a routine part of clinical care, continuous EEG has allowed better detection and characterization of nonconvulsive seizures, and patterns along the ictal–interictal continuum in critically ill patients.
