Suppression of collision-induced dissociation in a supersonically expanding gas [PDF]
In high-resolution mass spectrometry, an electrospray ionization source is often paired with an ion-funnel to enhance ion transmission. Although it is established that ions experience collision-induced dissociation as they pass through this device, the impact of gas-flow dynamics on ion fragmentation remains unexplored.

O -Acetylated sugars in the gas phase: stability, migration, positional isomers and conformation [PDF]
O-acetylations are functional modifications which can be found on different hydroxyl groups of glycans and which contribute to the fine tuning of their biological activity. Localizing the acetyl modifications is notoriously challenging in glycoanalysis, in particular because of their mobility: loss or migration of the acetyl group may occur through the

Model mass spectrometric study of competitive interactions of antimicrobial bisquaternary ammonium drugs and aspirin with membrane phospholipids [PDF]
The aim of the study is to reveal molecular mechanisms of possible activity modulation of antimicrobial bis-quaternary ammonium compounds (BQAC) and aspirin (ASP) through noncovalent competitive complexation under their combined introduction into the ...

Variational autoencoders for tissue heterogeneity exploration from (almost) no preprocessed mass spectrometry imaging data [PDF]
The paper presents the application of Variational Autoencoders (VAE) for data dimensionality reduction and explorative analysis of mass spectrometry imaging data (MSI). The results confirm that VAEs are capable of detecting the patterns associated with the different tissue sub-types with performance than standard approaches.
