Color stability of a resin composite: Effect of the immersion method and surface treatments

open access: yesIndian Journal of Dental Research, 2016
Background: In vitro staining methods expose the entire specimen to staining solutions. In a real clinical situation, this is not observed, since one should consider that the bonded surface is not exposed to the oral environment.

Measuring Leaf Chlorophyll Concentration from Its Color: A Way in Monitoring Environment Change to Plantations

open access: yes, 2013
Leaf colors of a plant can be used to identify stress level due to its adaptation to environmental change. For most leaves green-related colors are sourced from chlorophyll a and b. Chlorophyll concentration is normally measured using a spectrophotometer

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Suction Spectrophotometer Cell

open access: yesClinical Chemistry, 1966
Abstract A spectrophotometer cuvet is described which is emptied by suction without re-moval from the instrument. The use of this cuvet saves time and minimizes the chance of breakage. Data from C14 measurements and absorbances of a dye solution show minimal retention error from successive specimens.

The light stability of transparent coating materials is influenced by the location of exposition

open access: yesActa Universitatis Agriculturae et Silviculturae Mendelianae Brunensis, 2010
The ultraviolet radiation (UV), reaching the earth‘s surface, changes color of the paint films. By exposure to weathering, the biggest damage is caused by light, especially short-wavelength UV, high temperature and humidity. Any of these factors can lead

Chromatographic Identification of Leaf Color Characteristics on Fine-flavor and Bulk Cacao as Selection Indicator [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
A problem encountered in plant breeding process to determine bean color quality of fine-flavor cocoa is a long selection period. Preliminary results indicatedthat the fine-flavor cocoa has a low color reflectance than bulk cocoa.
