CSPOB-Continuous Spectrophotometry of Black Holes

open access: yes, 2008
The goal of a small and dedicated satellite called the "Continuous Spectro-Photometry of Black Holes" or CSPOB is to provide the essential tool for the theoretical understanding of the hydrodynamic and magneto-hydrodynamic flows around black holes.

Effects of seasonal variations and collection methods on the mineral composition of propolis from Apis mellifera Linnaeus Beehives

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Biology
The effects of seasonal variations and the methods of collection of propolis produced by Africanized honey bees Apis mellifera Linnaeus, 1758, on the composition of constituent minerals such as magnesium (Mg), zinc (Zn), iron (Fe), sodium (Na), calcium ...

Hydrogel‐Based Capacitive Sensor Model for Ammonium Monitoring in Aquaculture

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Traditional techniques for monitoring aquaculture water quality, particularly ammonium levels, harm fish. This work presents a novel capacitive sensor with an ionic hydrogel transducer to monitor ammonium concentration in real time based on the ammonium‐induced hydrogel dissociation and osmotic pressure. Monitoring aquaculture water quality, especially

Spectrophotometry and structural analysis of 5 comets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We discuss the morphology and spectrophotometry of 5 comets visible in August, 2001. We decompose comae into coma profiles and azimuthally renormalized images, in which general and local features are quantitatively comparable. Comet 19P/Borrelly showed a strong gas fan toward the solar direction, but no detectable gas in the tail.

The Chemical Composition of the 30 Doradus Nebula Derived from VLT Echelle Spectrophotometry [PDF]

open access: yesAstrophys.J. 584 (2003) 735-750, 2002
Echelle spectrophotometry of the 30 Doradus nebula in the LMC is presented. The data consists of VLT UVES observations in the 3100 to 10350 A range. The intensities of 366 emission lines have been measured, including 269 identified permitted lines of H 0, He 0, C 0, C+, N+, N++, O 0, O+, Ne 0, Ne+, S+, S++, Si 0 , Si+, Si++, Ar+, and Mg+.

Gran Telescopio Canarias OSIRIS Transiting Exoplanet Atmospheric Survey: Detection of potassium in XO-2b from narrowband spectrophotometry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We present Gran Telescopio Canarias (GTC) optical transit narrow-band photometry of the hot-Jupiter exoplanet XO-2b using the OSIRIS instrument. This unique instrument has the capabilities to deliver high cadence narrow-band photometric lightcurves ...

RECENT DEVELOPMENT IN ULTRAVIOLET SPECTROPHOTOMETRY THROUGH THE LAST DECADE (2006-2016): A REVIEW

open access: yes, 2016
Several techniques have been proposed for treatment of spectrophotometric data, with the objective of extracting the largest amount of analytical information from spectra composed of unresolved bands.

Joule‐Assisted Nanotherapeutic Urethral Stent (JANUS) for Spatiotemporal Theragenerative Treatment of Urethral Strictures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Joule‐assisted nanotherapeutic urethral stent harnesses a smart, biodegradable magnesium stent to orchestrate spatiotemporal theragenerative therapy for urethral strictures. Magnetically induced Joule heating enables on‐demand drug release and bacterial ablation, while simultaneously guiding urothelial regeneration.

Spectrophotometry with a transmission grating for detecting faint occultations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
High-precision spectrophotometry is highly desirable in detecting and characterizing close-in extrasolar planets to learn about their makeup and temperature. For such a goal, a modest-size telescope with a simple low-resolution spectroscopic instrument is potentially as good or better than a complex general purpose spectrograph since calibration and ...
