Empirical determination of intermediate-coupling amplitudes and transition rates from spectroscopic data

Physical Review A, 1991
A simple general method is presented whereby measured spectroscopic energy-level data can be used to empirically construct the eigenvectors of intermediate coupling for an arbitrary configuration. These empirical eigenvectors can be used to elucidate the transition rates into, out of, and among the levels of the configuration by separating the effects ...

Alpha -particle spectroscopic amplitudes for excited states of 1p-shell nuclei

Journal of Physics G: Nuclear Physics, 1986
Alpha -particle spectroscopic amplitudes were calculated for the excited normal parity states of 1p-shell nuclei. The wavefunctions of the nuclear states were approximated by the intermediate-coupling model wavefunctions. These spectroscopic amplitudes are required for studying the multistep direct sequential transfer processes.

Spectroscopic ellipsometry using the grating division-of-amplitude photopolarimeter (G-DOAP)

Thin Solid Films, 2004
Abstract Spectroscopic ellipsometric (SE) measurements obtained using the grating division-of-amplitude photopolarimeter (G-DOAP) are presented. G-DOAP measures all four Stokes parameters of arbitrarily polarized light over the full spectrum (550–940 nm in the present case), with no moving parts or modulators in less than 1 s.

Mean amplitudes of vibration for CH3SO2F and CH3SO2Cl from spectroscopic data

Journal of Molecular Structure, 1973
Abstract A tentative assignment of vibrational frequencies for CH 3 SO 2 F and CH 3 SO 2 Cl is established. The available spectral data from literature were supplemented by new infrared measurements in the liquid phase. A normal coordinate analysis was performed on the basis of the assigned frequencies.

Alpha particle spectroscopic amplitudes in the j-j coupled shell model

Nuclear Physics A, 1974
Abstract Formulae for calculating spectroscopic amplitudes for α-transfer reactions are developed in the framework of the j - j coupled harmonic oscillator shell model. It is shown that the amplitudes can be written as a sum of coupled two-neutron and two-proton spectroscopic amplitudes, illustrating that many properties of α-transfer reactions can

Determination of phase and amplitude of degree of coherence from spectroscopic measurements

Optics Communications, 2000
In a recent study, James and Wolf [D.F.V. James, E. Wolf, Opt. Commun. 145 (1998) 1] have shown theoretically that if spectral measurements are made at several off-axes points in Young's interference experiment, the amplitude and the phase of the spectral degree of coherence can be determined.

Spectroscopic Method for Measuring Plasma Magnetic Fields Having Arbitrary Distributions of Direction and Amplitude

Physical Review Letters, 2007
An approach for measurements of magnetic fields, based on the comparison of the magnetic-field-induced contributions to the line shapes of different fine-structure components of an atomic multiplet, is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. Contrary to the methods based on detecting an anisotropy in either the emitted radiation or in the dispersion ...

Analysis of the α-spectroscopic amplitudes of16O

Journal of Physics G: Nuclear Physics, 1978
The alpha -spectroscopic amplitudes of 16O are analysed in detail using the recent calculation of Apagyi and Fai (1976) based on the shell-model results of Zuker et al (1968). The importance of the knowledge of the precise magnitude and phase of the amplitudes is emphasised.

The Distributions of Periods and Amplitudes of Late-Type Spectroscopic Binaries

1985
Photoelectric radial-velocity measurements, made on an unhurried observing schedule, have permitted the discovery of groups of spectroscopic binaries in which the usual observational discrimination against long periods and small amplitudes is much reduced.
