A Tunable Freeform-Segmented Reflector in a Microfluidic System for Conventional and Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy

open access: yesSensors, 2020
We present a freeform-segmented reflector-based microfluidic system for conventional Raman and Surface-Enhanced Raman Scattering (SERS) analysis. The segmented reflector is directly designed by a numerical approach.

High pressure minerals in the Château-Renard (L6) ordinary chondrite: implications for collisions on its parent body [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
We report the first discoveries of high-pressure minerals in the historical L6 chondrite fall Château-Renard, based on co-located Raman spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and electron backscatter ...

The spectroscopic detection of drugs of abuse in fingerprints after development with powders and recovery with adhesive lifters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The application of powders to fingerprints has long been established as an effective and reliable method for developing latent fingerprints. Fingerprints developed in situ at a crime scene routinely undergo lifting with specialist tapes and are then ...

Biodegradable starch-based films containing saturated fatty acids: thermal, infrared and raman spectroscopic characterization

open access: yesPolímeros, 2012
Biodegradable films of thermoplastic starch and poly (butylene adipate co-terephthalate) (PBAT) containing fatty acids were characterized thermally and with infrared and Raman spectroscopies. The symmetrical character of the benzene ring in PBAT provided

Deepening inside the pictorial layers of Etruscan sarcophagus of Hasti Afunei: An innovative micro-sampling technique for Raman/SERS analyses [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The Hasti Afunei sarcophagus is a large Etruscan urn, made up of two chalky alabaster monoliths. Dated from the last quarter of the third century BC, it was found in 1826 in the small town of Chiusi (Tuscany- Il Colle place) by a landowner, Pietro Bonci ...

Automatic Recognition of Color Pigments from Raman Spectrum Analysis

open access: yesCommunications to SIMAI Congress, 2009
In this paper, an algorithm to automatically recognize pigments from Raman spectrum analysis is presented. The Raman spectroscopy is a technique to confirm the presence of specific pigments in a painting. Pattern Recognition techniques are applied over an existing database of Raman spectra in order to find a set of characteristic features.
