Collaborative Penalized Least Squares for Background Correction of Multiple Raman Spectra
Although Raman spectroscopy has been widely used as a noninvasive analytical tool in various applications, backgrounds in Raman spectra impair its performance in quantitative analysis.

An idea of designing novel sensors is proposed by creating appropriate Schottky barriers and vacancies between isomorphous Core‐CuOii/ Shell‐CuOi secondary microspheres and enhancing catalytic and spill‐over effects, and electronegativity via spontaneous biphasic separation, self‐assembly, and trace‐Ni‐doping.

Crystal structure and properties of barium thorate BaThO$_3$ from first principles
The phonon spectrum of cubic BaThO$_3$ with the perovskite structure is calculated from first principles within the density functional theory. The analysis of unstable modes in the phonon spectrum enables to determine the symmetry of all possible ...

This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.

Feature visualization of Raman spectrum analysis with deep convolutional neural network
We demonstrate a recognition and feature visualization method that uses a deep convolutional neural network for Raman spectrum analysis. The visualization is achieved by calculating important regions in the spectra from weights in pooling and fully-connected layers. The method is first examined for simple Lorentzian spectra, then applied to the spectra

Enhancing Low‐Temperature Performance of Sodium‐Ion Batteries via Anion‐Solvent Interactions
DOL is introduced into electrolytes as a co‐solvent, increasing slat solubility, ion conductivity, and the de‐solvent process, and forming an anion‐rich solvent shell due to its high interaction with anion. With the above virtues, the batteries using this electrolyte exhibit excellent cycling stability at low temperatures. Abstract Sodium‐ion batteries

Signature of electronic excitations in the Raman spectrum of graphene [PDF]
Inelastic light scattering from Dirac-type electrons in graphene is shown to be dominated by the generation of the inter-band electronic modes which are odd in terms of time-inversion symmetry and belong to the irreducible representation A$_2$ of the ...
