A High Spectrum Efficiency Transmission Scheme

2009 International Conference on Scalable Computing and Communications; Eighth International Conference on Embedded Computing, 2009
In order to improve the transmission performance in inter-symbol interference channel, a controlled inter-symbol overlapping transmission scheme to obtain high frequency efficiency, which is called inter-symbol overlapping transmission (ISOT), is studied. ISOT allows $K$ symbols to be simultaneously transmitted without increasing channel bandwidth, and

Efficient Spectrum Management among Spectrum Sharing UMTS Operators

2011 IEEE 73rd Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC Spring), 2011
Dynamic spectrum management is a promising solution for network operators to efficiently utilise the limited radio spectrum and guarantee operator's profit by increasing capacity as well as generating more spectrum opportunities for opportunistic use.

Spectrum Efficiency in Distributed Antenna Systems

2011 IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference - GLOBECOM 2011, 2011
The distributed antenna system (DAS) is a promising system to provide high data rate for future wireless communications, since it can reduce the radio transmission distance. This paper aims to investigate the average spectrum efficiency and the cell edge spectrum efficiency in the downlink transmission of the DAS.

Energy-efficient spectrum access in Cognitive Radio

2013 IEEE 24th Annual International Symposium on Personal, Indoor, and Mobile Radio Communications (PIMRC), 2013
Cognitive radio (CR) and energy-efficient design have emerged as two promising techniques to achieve high spectrum efficiency (SE) and energy efficiency (EE), respectively. In this paper, we study energy-efficient opportunistic spectrum access strategies for an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM)-based CR network with multiple secondary ...

Energy Efficiency of Spectrum-Sharing Communication Systems

2015 IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM), 2014
Energy efficiency is of paramount importance for studying spectrum-sharing green communications. We provide some understanding on the energy efficiency of spectrum-sharing systems which are subject to an average interference power constraint. The results present some interesting insight for designing spectrum-sharing systems.

Spectrum Efficiency at the Extensive and Intensive Edges

Wireless Personal Communications, 2017
Future 5G architectures will need access to additional spectrum either at the extensive edge (accessing hitherto unused spectrum or refarming assigned spectrum) or at the intensive edge (making more productive use of used spectrum). A full understanding and pursuit of spectrum efficiency dividends will be a deciding factor in the successful deployment ...

Spectrum Efficiency of Nested Sparse Sampling

2012
This paper addresses the spectrum efficiency study of nested sparse sampling in the estimation of power spectral density for QPSK signal. The authors proposed nested sampling only showed that this new sub-Nyquist sampling algorithm could achieve enhanced degrees of freedom, but did not consider its spectrum efficiency performance.
