Spectrum sharing in the gray space [PDF]
There has been considerable effort to let more wireless devices operate in “white space” spectrum, i.e. within frequency bands and geographic areas where no wireless devices are active. Making white space available is certainly useful, but there are other sharing opportunities as well, some of which have been obscured by dangerous misconceptions about ...

Spectrum Sharing Between Wireless Networks [PDF]
We consider the problem of two wireless networks operating on the same (presumably unlicensed) frequency band. Pairs within a given network cooperate to schedule transmissions, but between networks there is competition for spectrum. To make the problem tractable, we assume transmissions are scheduled according to a random access protocol where each ...

Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.

Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Overview of LTE Spectrum Sharing Technologies
Long-Term Evolution (LTE) communication systems feature advanced frequency reuse and interference coordination techniques providing faster and more secured mobile services. However, the network capacity in licensed spectrum is still behind market demands.

Database-Assisted Distributed Spectrum Sharing [PDF]
According to FCC's ruling for white-space spectrum access, white-space devices are required to query a database to determine the spectrum availability. In this paper, we study the database-assisted distributed white-space access point (AP) network design. We first model the cooperative and non-cooperative channel selection problems among the APs as the

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Review and prospect on the research of dynamic spectrum sharing
As one of the most efficient ways to alleviate the problem of spectrum scarcity, dynamic spectrum sharing has drawn worldwide attention. Firstly, the concept of dynamic spectrum sharing was briefly introduced.

Changes in U.S. spectrum licensing require on-going shared use of spectrum bands between commercial and government services. This requires accurate tools to estimate mutual interference between different technologies, over different spatial scales, numbers of transmitters, and using complex protocols such as LTE (Long Term Evolution) operating in ...
