Finite-temperature magnetization transport of the one-dimensional anisotropic Heisenberg model

open access: yes, 2011
We study finite-temperature magnetization transport in a one-dimensional anisotropic Heisenberg model, focusing in particular on the gapped phase. Using numerical simulations by two different methods, a propagation of localized wavepackets and a study of

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

Qualification Procedures of the CMS Pixel Barrel Modules

open access: yes, 2005
The CMS pixel barrel system will consist of three layers built of about 800 modules. One module contains 66560 readout channels and the full pixel barrel system about 48 million channels.

Influence of speed bumps on braking distance

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, 2019
Abstract This paper aims to dismiss the popular belief that speed bumps reduce the vehicle speeds or reduce the braking distance. In recent years, the implementation of speed bumps on public roads in Romania has increased. The correct understanding of the role of the speed bump has been misunderstood by the Romanian authorities who use ...

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

TRIP WIRES AND SPEED BUMPS: MANAGING FINANCIAL RISKS AND REDUCING THE POTENTIAL FOR FINANCIAL CRISES IN DEVELOPING ECONOMIES [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper investigates the shortcomings of the “early warning systems” (EWS) that are currently being promoted with such vigour in the multilateral and academic community. It then advocates an integrated “trip wire-speed bump” regime to reduce financial

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

DYNAMIC ANALYSIS OF NON-PNEUMATIC TIRES WITH HONEYCOMB SPOKES ON SPEED BUMPS

open access: yesRekayasa Mesin
The Non-Pneumatic Tire (NPT) has rapidly developed as an alternative to the Pneumatic Tire since it was created by Michelin in 2005. This research aims to investigate the influence of load and speed on the stress experienced by honeycomb-structured ...

Preliminary Study of Applied Load Factors in Bumpy Air [PDF]

open access: yes
Theoretical relations involved in the study are reviewed to furnish a basis upon which experimental data can be properly analyzed. The structure of the atmosphere in relation to the load-factor problem is briefly discussed, and the acceleration data ...
