KIF2A Upregulates PI3K/AKT Signaling through Polo-like Kinase 1 (PLK1) to Affect the Proliferation and Apoptosis Levels of Eriocheir sinensis Spermatogenic Cells

open access: yesBiology
E. sinensis is an animal model for studying the reproduction and development of crustaceans. In this study, we knocked down the Es-Kif2a gene by injecting dsRNA into E.

Single-cell RNA sequencing reveals the local cell landscape in mouse epididymal initial segment during aging

open access: yesImmunity & Ageing, 2023
Background Morphological and functional alterations in aging reproductive organs result in decreased male fertility. The epididymis functions as the transition region for post-testicular sperm maturation.

Use of sperm DNA fragmentation testing and testicular sperm for intracytoplasmic sperm injection [PDF]

open access: yesTranslational Andrology and Urology, 2017
Dr. Ahmad, in his well-written commentary (1), shared his viewpoints about the utility of sperm DNA fragmentation (SDF) testing on each clinical scenario proposed in the practice recommendations by Agarwal et al . (2). He highlighted the pitfalls of relying on quantitative semen parameters in current practice and the need for a more reliable ...

Qualitative Real‐Time Disinfection Monitoring through Lipid Nanoparticle‐Separated Fluorophore‐Quencher Pairs

open access: yesAdvanced Sensor Research, EarlyView.
A real‐time method for monitoring surface disinfection is presented using fluorescence‐labeled DNA and lipid nanoparticles. The system detects chemical disintegration caused by disinfectants, producing an immediate fluorescence change visible with simple tools.
