Glycogen in Spermatidic Arrest
1971Glycogen probably plays an important role in the maturation of germinal cells. Intratubular glycogen is abundant in the prepubertal stage; it diminishes remarkably at the beginning of puberty, reappears during the period of complete sexual maturation and the highest increase is found in the tubules in involution.

Ultrastructural Characteristics of Idiopathic Spermatidic Arrest
Archives of Andrology, 1979Previous studies on some cases of idiopathic spermatidic arrest showed an anomaly in glucose metabolism, in particular decreased utilization of glycogen at stage 3 of spermatogenesis, when condensation of the spermatid head commences. Histological patterns seen on light microscopy confirmed the reduced utilization of glycogen at stage 3 of ...

[In-vitro differentiation of human testicular round spermatids to elongating spermatids].
Zhonghua nan ke xue = National journal of andrology, 2007To investigate the differentiation of human testicular spermatogenic cells during in vitro culture.Testicular cells of obstructive azoospermic patients' testis biopsies were dispersed employing mechanic methods. Then, (1) mixed testicular cells were applied to in vitro culture, and changes of the ratio of elongating spermatids and all round cells were ...

[Advances in microinsemination with spermatid].
Zhonghua nan ke xue = National journal of andrology, 2007Men with non-obstructive azoospermia(NOA) can now be treated by using intra-oocyte round spermatid injection(ROSI) or elongated spermatid injection(ELSI). Spermatids can be retrieved from semen or from testis biopsy specimens. But the rates of fertilization and pregnancy with spermatids have been disappointing.
