Spermiogenesis in the anthozoan Aiptasia pallida

Tissue and Cell, 1980
Fine structural aspects of spermiogenesis in the anthozoan Aiptasia pallida have been examined. Nuclear condensation is similar to that reported for other anthozoans. The middle piece is formed by fusion of a few small mitochondria and is doughnut-shaped.

Ultrastructural features of human spermiogenesis

Zeitschrift fr Zellforschung und Mikroskopische Anatomie, 1969
The ultrastructural features of human spermiogenesis have been correlated with the light microscopic appearance of spermatids. The development of the acrosome together with the changes in nuclear shape, position, size and chromatin configuration are the most useful criteria for ultrastructural staging of spermiogenesis.

Effects of colchicine on spermiogenesis in the mouse

Development, 1979
ABSTRACT The effects of colchicine on spermiogenesis in the mouse were examined. Mice were injected intratesticularly with colchicine in concentrations of 10−4M to 10−6M for various periods of time. The ultrastructure of the testes was examined and abnormal sperm in the epididymis were scored.

Some aspects of spermiogenesis in a lizard

American Journal of Anatomy, 1967
AbstractSpermatids of the American chameleon Anolis carolinensis, have been examined with the electron microscope during the period from the first appearance of caudal sheath microtubules to the stage of differentiation just before the caudal sheath disappears.

Binucleate Spermiogenesis in the Mouse

Proceedings, annual meeting, Electron Microscopy Society of America, 1972
Classically, the male germinal epithelium is depicted as synchronously developing uninucleate spermatids conjoined by intercellular bridges. Recently, binucleate and multinucleate spermatids from human and mouse testis have been reported. The present paper describes certain developmental events in one type of binucleate spermatid in the seminiferous ...
