Expression, purification, crystallization and preliminary X-ray analysis of ORF60, the small subunit (R2) of ribonucleotide reductase from Kaposi's sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV) [PDF]
Ribonucleotide reductase (RNR) is responsible for converting ribonucleotides to deoxyribonucleotides, which are the building blocks of DNA. The enzyme is present in all life forms as well as in some large DNA viruses such as herpesviruses.

Polarity‐matched Zr–MOFs program Nafion's nanoscale morphology during solution casting. Hydrophilic UiO‐66 preserves hydrated pathways, while hydrophobic UiO‐67 increases the proton hopping sites by densifying ionic clusters. Combining both fillers yields a membrane that delivers 176 mS cm−1 conductivity, reaches 1.46 W cm−2 under 200 kPa, and triples ...

Crystallization of CuZrAgAl Bulk Metallic Glass at Various Temperatures and Pressures [PDF]
The Cu₄₃Zr₄₃Ag₇Al₇ alloy was obtained in an amorphous form through inert gas spray forming, followed by separation using a tower cyclone gas separator. The resulting spherical particles were about 11 μm in size.

Spherical quartz crystals investigated with synchrotron radiation
The quality of x-ray spectra and images obtained from plasmas with spherically bent crystals depends in part on the crystal’s x-ray diffraction across the entire crystal surface. We employ the energy selectivity and high intensity of synchrotron radiation to examine typical spherical crystals from alpha-quartz for their diffraction quality, in a ...

USe3 is introduced as an actinide van der Waals semiconductor that mirrors the quasi‐one‐dimensional physics of transition‐metal trichalcogenides. Polarization‐resolved Raman spectroscopy on exfoliated flakes maps strong in‐plane phonon anisotropy and strain‐tunable mode shifts.

Selection of a system for spherical crystallization

Optimization of fluoride removal by induced crystallization based on RSM methodology
In order to investigate the fluoride removal effect of calcium fluorophosphate induced crystallization, Box-Behnken design (BBD) was used for calcium fluorophosphate induced crystallization fluoride removal experiments to develop a quadratic regression ...

Hafnium zirconium oxide thin films are grown using plasma‐enhanced atomic layer deposition with the addition of an atomic layer annealing (ALA) step. ALA leads to a change in the short‐range structure of the deposit and encourages formation of the ferroelectric Pca21 phase. The result is wake‐up‐free performance with films exposed to ALA.
