Magnetic resonance tractography based on the constrained spherical deconvolution in patients with gliomas of the optic pathway

open access: yesAlʹmanah Kliničeskoj Mediciny, 2021
Background: The use of magnetic resonance (MR) tractography in neurosurgery is becoming an increasingly common practice for noninvasive imaging of white matter pathways.

Variational semi-blind sparse deconvolution with orthogonal kernel bases and its application to MRFM [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We present a variational Bayesian method of joint image reconstruction and point spread function (PSF) estimation when the PSF of the imaging device is only partially known.

Circulating microRNA signatures of cachexia and cancer in Canis familiaris as a comparative oncology model for human disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Circulating microRNAs as biomarkers of cachexia and sex‐specific cancer in senior dogs. In 25 client‐owned dogs, four circulating miRNAs (miR‐15a, miR‐15b, miR‐16, miR‐140) were downregulated in cachexia, with miR‐16 the strongest individual biomarker (AUC = 0.899).

Profiling neoadjuvant therapy response in rectal cancer using meta‐analysis of publicly available transcriptomic RNA‐seq datasets

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates publicly available transcriptomic datasets to identify molecular signatures associated with response to neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy in locally advanced rectal cancer. By analyzing a combination of multiple cohorts with bioinformatics approaches, we reveal biological pathways and immune‐related features that may improve ...

Improved Constrained Spherical Deconvolution for Microstructural Imaging of Brain Gray Matter

open access: yesChinese Journal of Magnetic Resonance
In diffusion magnetic resonance imaging (dMRI), conventional multi-shell constrained spherical deconvolution (CSD) methods usually model white matter microstructure as anisotropic and gray matter microstructure as isotropic.

Extracellular vesicle lipidomics liquid biopsy reveals systemic and tumor microenvironment metabolic reprogramming in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Extracellular vesicle (EV) lipidomic profiling of plasma and ascites from patients with high‐grade serous ovarian cancer and of ovarian cancer cell lines reveals enrichment of triglycerides (TGs), diacylglycerols (DGs), phosphatidylcholine (PCs), sphingomyelins (SMs), reflecting tumor metabolic reprogramming.

The role of the hippocampus in statistical learning and language recovery in persons with post stroke aphasia

open access: yesNeuroImage: Clinical, 2022
Although several studies have aimed for accurate predictions of language recovery in post stroke aphasia, individual language outcomes remain hard to predict.

Engineering IL‐4 resistant proinflammatory human myeloid cells for cancer immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed a scalable workflow to generate proinflammatory human myeloid cells. CRISPR/Cas9‐edited CD34+ hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells were expanded and differentiated with M‐CSF. Deletion of STAT6 or STAT6/NFKB1 enhanced macrophage proinflammatory gene expression and cytokine secretion in the presence of IL‐4 while maintaining antibody ...

Delineation of the visual pathway in paediatric optic pathway glioma patients using probabilistic tractography, and correlations with visual acuity

open access: yesNeuroImage: Clinical, 2018
Background: Radiological biomarkers which correlate with visual function are needed to improve the clinical management of optic pathway glioma (OPG) patients.

Scanning probe microscopy characterization of immobilized enzyme molecules on a biosensor surface: Visualisation of individual molecules [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Serbian Chemical Society, 2004
Scanning probe microscopy techniques were used to study immobilized enzyme molecules of glucose oxidase (GOD) on a biosensor surface. The study was carried out in order to optimize atomic force microscopy (AFM) imaging and reveal themolecular resolution ...
