A Note on the Spherical Maximal Operator for Radial Functions [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1987
The spherical maximal operator for radial functions of R n {{\mathbf {R}}^n} is shown to be a restricted weak type L p {L^p} bounded operator for p = n /

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

A simple model for circadian timing by mammals

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Medical and Biological Research, 2009
Circadian timing is structured in such a way as to receive information from the external and internal environments, and its function is the timing organization of the physiological and behavioral processes in a circadian pattern.

Therapeutic strategies for MMAE‐resistant bladder cancer through DPP4 inhibition

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We established monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE)‐resistant bladder cancer (BC) cell lines by exposure to progressively increasing concentrations of MMAE in vitro. RNA sequencing showed DPP4 expression was increased in MMAE‐resistant BC cells. Both si‐DPP4 and the DPP4 inhibitor sitagliptin suppressed the viability of MMAE‐resistant BC cells.

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

Sharp endpoint $L^p-$estimates for Bilinear spherical maximal functions

open access: yes, 2023
In this article, we address endpoint issues for the bilinear spherical maximal functions. We obtain borderline restricted weak type estimates for the well studied bilinear spherical maximal function $$\mathfrak{M}(f,g)(x):=\sup_{t>0}\left|\int_{\mathbb S^{2d-1}}f(x-ty_1)g(x-ty_2)\;dσ(y_1,y_2)\right|,$$ in dimensions $d=1,2$ and as an application, we

Dammarenediol II enhances etoposide‐induced apoptosis by targeting O‐GlcNAc transferase and Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling in liver cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

An endpoint estimate for the discrete spherical maximal function [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 2003
The author considers the discrete spherical maximal function \[ A_*(f)(n)=\sup_{r:N_d(r)\neq 0}\frac{1}{N_d(r)}\sum_{| m| =r}| f(n-m)| , \] for all \(f:\mathbb Z^d\rightarrow \mathbb C\). Here \(d\geq 2\) and \(N_d(r)\) denotes the number of lattice points, \(m\in\mathbb Z^d\), satisfying \(| m| =r\).

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.
