Diagrammatic Monte Carlo approach to angular momentum in quantum many-particle systems

open access: yes, 2018
We introduce a Diagrammatic Monte Carlo (DiagMC) approach to angular momentum properties of quantum many-particle systems possessing a macroscopic number of degrees of freedom.

Seeker-Azimuth Determination with Gyro Rotor and Optoelectronic Sensors

open access: yesSensors, 2018
This paper presents an approach to seeker-azimuth determination using the gyro rotor and optoelectronic sensors. In the proposed method, the gyro rotor is designed with a set of black and white right spherical triangle patterns on its surface.

Mechanism model of suspension force for spherical bearingless flywheel machine

open access: yesEnergy Reports, 2023
The flywheel energy storage system (FESS) has drawn more and more attentions in the past decades, and its operation performance is greatly dependent on the suspension characteristics of the flywheel machines.

Synchronizing the Osteochondral Regeneration Process through Spatial Patterning of Stable and Hypertrophic Cartilage Organoids

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Zonated osteochondral assembloid implants are engineered through scaffold‐free spatial assembly of induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)‐derived chondrocyte organoids and periosteum‐derived osteogenic organoids. Implanted into full‐thickness rat osteochondral defects, they promote hyaline‐like cartilage repair, support subchondral bone formation with ...

Design and movement trail analysis of a life testing machine for self-lubricating rod end spherical plain bearing of a helicopter

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Mechanical Design, Systems, and Manufacturing, 2016
In this paper, a new type of mechanism in a life testing machine for self-lubricating rod end spherical plain bearing of a helicopter is proposed based on the main rotor structure and motion process of a single rotor helicopter with hinged blades.

Plasmonic Nanomachines: Creating Local Potential Gradients and Motions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Plasmonic nanomachines can generate optical, thermal, and chemical potential gradients to drive directional rectilinear, rotational, and twisting motions at the nanometer scale. The integration of multimodal plasmonic forces with functional materials and programmed structural distortions enables precise spatiotemporal actuation, thereby providing a ...

Investigation on the Measurement Method for Output Torque of a Spherical Motor

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
The output torque is an important performance indicator of a motor. Due to the special structure of a permanent magnet spherical motor (PMSM), it is difficult to measure its torque.

Exact diagonalization of the Bohr Hamiltonian for rotational nuclei: Dynamical gamma softness and triaxiality

open access: yes, 2011
Detailed quantitative predictions are obtained for phonon and multiphonon excitations in well-deformed rotor nuclei within the geometric framework, by exact numerical diagonalization of the Bohr Hamiltonian in an SO(5) basis.

Impact of PVDF Homo and Copolymer on Thiophosphate Solid Electrolyte Characteristics and Comprehensive Bulk‐To‐Surface Characterization

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This study examines how a PVDF‐like binder affects the argyrodite Li6PS5Cl electrolyte properties. Using an approach that combines bulk and surface characterization with electrochemistry, we found a chemical interaction between Li6PS5Cl and PVDF, resulting in partial chlorine substitution by fluorine and slightly reduced ionic conductivity.
