Amyloid‐beta (1–40) peptide is associated with systemic metabolic health
Plasma amyloid‐beta 1–40 (Aβ40) levels were measured in 449 individuals without overt cardiovascular disease. Higher Aβ40 was independently associated with metabolic syndrome, dyslipidemia (low HDL‐C, high triglycerides), insulin resistance (TyG index), diabetes mellitus and increased BARD score indicating liver fibrosis risk.

Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are tiny, membrane‐covered packets that cells naturally release to send molecular information to one another. In the brain, they function as couriers that move proteins, lipids, and other signals between neurons, glial cells, and the blood–brain barrier.

Bioenergetics and lipid metabolism in Alzheimer's disease: From cell biology to systemic health
Abstract Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a complex neurodegenerative disorder characterized by progressive cognitive decline. Although amyloid‐β and tau pathologies remain central to our understanding of AD, growing evidence suggests that disrupted lipid metabolism and impaired bioenergetics are closely linked to these hallmark features. Genetic, lipidomic

ABSTRACT Sarcopenic obesity, characterized by the concurrent presence of excess adiposity and diminished skeletal muscle mass and function, is closely linked to frailty, chronic inflammation, and insulin resistance. The increasing prevalence of sarcopenic obesity is driven by the global aging population, widespread adoption of sedentary lifestyles, and

Risks for human health related to the presence of plant lectins in food
Abstract The European Commission asked the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) to assess the risk related to the presence of plant lectins in food. Based on the available evidence, the CONTAM Panel considered only phytohaemagglutinin (PHA), a legume lectin from beans (Phaseolus sp.), for the risk characterisation.
