Ultralight Soft Wearable Haptic Interface with Shear‐Normal‐Vibration Feedback

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This study proposes soft wearable haptic interface using pneumatic actuators and origami pumps. This interface can generate multiple sensations such as touching, slipping, and vibrating. To show performance and wearability of this interface, virtual reality is connected with the interface, and user tests are conducted.

Differential roles for pathogenicity islands SPI-13 and SPI-8 in the interaction of Salmonella Enteritidis and Salmonella Typhi with murine and human macrophages

open access: yesBiological Research, 2017
BackgroundSalmonella pathogenicity island (SPI)-13 is conserved in many serovars of S. enterica, including S. Enteritidis, S. Typhimurium and S. Gallinarum. However, it is absent in typhoid serovars such as S.

Reflections of Indigenous, racialized, and Global South practitioners and scholars on liberatory community wellbeing and mental health praxis: A qualitative study

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Community Psychology, EarlyView.
Abstract This qualitative study explores how Indigenous, racialized, and Global South practitioners and scholars engage in liberatory praxis, drawing on decolonial theory and critical psychologies, to reimagine community wellbeing and mental health (CWMH) beyond Western‐based psychological frameworks.

How morphogen gradients form – of FGF signals, a secreted serine protease, and a feedback-regulated protease inhibitor [PDF]

open access: yes
The formation of morphogen gradients is of fundamental importance in biology. Fibroblast growth factors (FGFs) have key functions in embryonic development and the adult, yet little is known about how the distribution and strength of these signals is ...

Biologically‐oriented alveolar ridge preservation to correct bone dehiscence at immediate implant placement

open access: yesClinical Advances in Periodontics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background The purpose of the present case study is to describe the application of a modification of the Biologically‐oriented Alveolar Ridge Preservation (BARP) principles in cases of peri‐implant bone dehiscence (PIBD) due to a compromised alveolus at immediate implant placement (IIP).

In Vivo Biosynthesis and Direct Incorporation of Noncanonical Amino Acids into Proteins

open access: yesChemBioChem, EarlyView.
This review evaluates engineered (semi)autonomous cell systems for the biosynthesis and incorporation of noncanonical amino acids (ncAAs) into proteins. While semi‐autonomous cells convert supplied precursors into ncAAs autonomous cells integrate biosynthetic pathways that produce these building blocks intracellularly.
