Comparing Soy and Milk Protein Regulation of Hepatic Omega‐3 Fatty Acid Biosynthesis

EPA and DHA are omega‐3 fatty acids with anti‐inflammatory and triglyceride‐lowering properties. They are obtained from fatty fish or synthesized in the liver from ALA. Male C57BL/6N mice were fed a diet containing soy protein isolate or skim milk powder and 1% or 3% energy from ALA for 8 weeks.
