The Effect of Ligand Design on Metal Ion Spin State—Lessons from Spin Crossover Complexes
The relationship between chemical structure and spin state in a transition metal complex has an important bearing on mechanistic bioinorganic chemistry, catalysis by base metals, and the design of spin crossover materials.

Role of the impurities in 2D spin crossover nanoparticle: Monte Carlo study
This work is devoted to the study of the impurities effect in 2D spin crossover nanosystem in frame work of an Ising-like model. Results were obtained by means of Monte Carlo modeling technique, based on the heat bath algorithm.

Cooperative phenomena in spin crossover systems [PDF]
Within the framework of a realistic multi-band p-d-model, we derived an effective Hamiltonian to describe the exchange interaction effects near the spin crossover in magnetic Mott-Hubbard insulators under pressure. It is shown that single-ion mechanism of spin crossover under change of the crystal field does not lead to a thermodynamic phase transition,

Solution-State Spin Crossover in a Family of [Fe(L)2(CH3CN)2](BF4)2 Complexes
We report herein on five new Fe(II) complexes of general formula [Fe(L)2(NCCH3)2](BF4)2•xCH3CN (L = substituted 2-pyridylimine-based ligands). The influence of proximally located electron withdrawing groups (e.g., NO2, CN, CF3, Cl, Br) bound to ...

Disordered (Fe50Co50)1−xPtx thin films exhibit a pronounced anomalous Nernst effect (ANE) with a strong composition dependence on both rigid and flexible substrates. The transverse thermoelectric response peaks near 22.5 at.% Pt, accompanied by enhanced αxy/σxy scaling, thermal transport, and ANE sensitivity.

Coarse‐grained (left) and atomistic (right) models of the shape memory polymer ESTANE ETE 75DT3 are shown schematically. The two representations bridge molecular detail and mesoscopic description. Both models capture shape memory behavior, linking segmental mobility and conformational relaxation of anisotropic chains to macroscopic recovery, and ...

Magnetic Field Perturbations to a Soft X-ray-Activated Fe (II) Molecular Spin State Transition
The X-ray-induced spin crossover transition of an Fe (II) molecular thin film in the presence and absence of a magnetic field has been investigated. The thermal activation energy barrier in the soft X-ray activation of the spin crossover transition for ...

Bistable Spin‐Crossover Nanoparticles for Molecular Electronics
AbstractThe field of spin‐crossover complexes is rapidly evolving from the study of the spin transition phenomenon to its exploitation in molecular electronics. Such spin transition is gradual in a single‐molecule, while in bulk it can be abrupt, showing sometimes thermal hysteresis and thus a memory effect.
