Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Spin Rate and Deflection Ratio of a Ping Pong Ball [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Science International School Bangkok, 2013
To investigate the effects of a spherical object’s spin rate on the curvature of its flight, Ping Pong balls, of varying spin rates, were hit horizontally and recorded from above with a high-speed camera.

Effect of Residual Carbon on Spin‐Polarized Coupling at a Graphene/Ferromagnet Interface

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, 2023
Vertical stacks of graphene and ferromagnetic layers are predicted to be efficient spin filters, while the experimentally observed figures of merit systematically remain below the theoretical predictions. According to general consensus, a vaguely defined

Diffusive and precessional spin dynamics in a two-dimensional electron gas with disorder: a gauge theory view

open access: yes, 2010
We develop a gauge theory for diffusive and precessional spin dynamics in two-dimensional electron gas with disorder. Our approach reveals a direct connections between the absence of the equilibrium spin current and strong anisotropy in the spin ...

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Deduction of Pure Spin Current from Spin Linear and Circular Photogalvanic Effect in Semiconductor Quantum Wells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We study the spin photogalvanic effect in two-dimensional electron system with structure inversion asymmetry by means of the solution of semiconductor optical Bloch equations.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Autotuning Parallel Programs by Model Checking

open access: yesМоделирование и анализ информационных систем, 2021
The paper presents a new approach to autotuning data-parallel programs. Autotuning is a search for optimal program settings which maximize its performance.
